Ignoring Borders Since 2019


It's a race! If you are looking for a challenge, look no further. 307km long Big Bash will test your physical and psychical strength all right. Don't feel like racing? No worries. Just pack your tent and enjoy the beautiful scenery at your own pace. Big Bash is part of #BBBC2022. We will welcome you to the Camp on Thursday, September 8, and we will party with you on Saturday night, September 10, 2022.

All Big Bash riders will be baring a satellite tracker so your loved ones, and we can track your progress on Follow My Challenge. 

What is provided?

  • Two nights camping (Thursday & Saturday) You'll be out riding through Friday night!

  • Thursday and Saturday buffet dinner, Friday and Sunday buffet breakfast

  • Nutrition pack from Chimpanzee Nutrition

  • The route (a . GPX track to follow)

  • Komoot complete map package

  • Finisher party, includes dinner, live band, signature medieval party.

  • Diploma for each finisher

  • SRAM X Border Bash Logo Cap 

  • BIEHLER X Cycling Cap 

  • KOMOOT X Border Bash coffee cup 

  • Raffle for all finishers: 1x Wahoo Element Roam

  • Raffle for all finishers: Lezyne floor pumps, provided by Sport Import GmbH

  • A BIEHLER Cycling kit for the last person to finish before the deadline (€500 worth.).

  • Some beer


What to bring?

  • A bike suitable for the mixed-surface road & gravel event

  • Helmet (mandatory)

  • GPS devise. You will need it to follow the route

  • Powerbank or additional battery backup

  • All necessary items to be self-sufficient on the route. Stuff like tools & spares, a pump, tubes, patches, chain link, etc. This is a self-supported ride!

  • Lights with plenty of juice to get you through the night. Sunset is 7:29 PM, sunrise at 6:31 AM eleven hours later.

  • Tent and sleeping bag, sleeping mat

  • Spoon, fork, bowl (This is very important. We will not provide plastic utensils)

  • Personal items

  • 307km; 5170m up; 5170m down, highest point 1012m; lowest point 120m; 1x ferry crossing. ​

Thursday, September 8

  • 4 - 9 PM Arrival. You will set your tent up, register, and kick back. Your tent will be waiting for you when you come back, sometime on Saturday.

  • 6 - 7 PM Dinner & beers with the gang

  • 9 PM mandatory meeting by the fire

Friday, September 9

  • 6:30 Buffet breakfast 

  • 8 AM Start of the #BIGBASH2022 

Saturday, September 10

  • Sign in Komoot tent upon your arrival. Tracker drop off.

  • We will be waiting for you with open arms and with a cold beer in hand. First, you'll get some rest so you can party later in the evening. Then, we will be ready to hear your stories.

  • 6 - 9 PM Buffet dinner

  • 8 PM Party Time! 

  • 9 PM Bonfire and the signature Medieval Party

  • 9:30 PM #BIGBASH2022 Ceremony 

  • 10 PM more live music and DJ and beer 

Sunday, September 11

  • 8 AM Breakfast Buffet

Satelite tracker rental fee: €40 

Big Bash is a 300 km-long cycling adventure, part of the BBBC2020. You will set off Friday morning, Sep 9, equipped with a satellite tracker and the route on your GPS. After that, it will be up to you whether you will try to beat the previous year's record or whether you'll take time to enjoy nature

Location:  Bohemian - Saxony Switzerland National Park;  50.8547019N, 14.3579331E (Germany 🇩🇪 / Czech Republic 🇨🇿 )

Airports:  Berlin, Dresden, Prague 

Arriving by train:

Trains from Dresden (Germany) or Decin (Czechia) stop at Schöna station. Take the ferry (50m from the station, €2.50) across the river Elbe/Labe. You will find yourself in Hrensko. Follow the road into the woods. It is only 11.6km long ride.


International trains from Berlin or Prague stop in Bad Schandau. You can cycle from the train station to the event. It is 22km long ride. There is a ferry service from Bad Schandau to Hrensko as well. More information here:
